The latest Petite Purls has gone live and I had so much fun styling and shooting this over-sized miss-muffit styled crochet hat.
I always editing the photos in each issue (I crop, post process and correct any submitted photographs that are used in any given issue) everyone makes a big effort to send in the best possible photos. If you like to knit for kids, this is your go to source of modern-classic kids designs. One of my favorite features from this issue is this adorable DIY skirt.

I have a bucket list of some fun types of shots I would like to get, it’s not written up but something in the back of my mind and when I get an opportunity to try one I go for it. This Thanksgiving weekend I had an old High School alumni friend ask me if I could come take some portraits of her family and some candids of her son. I had a wonderful time catching up with her, and was happy to get to scratch one off the list, photographing someone on a trampoline!!
We’ve been super busy over here. I shot fall portraits in Atlanta at a school (that means shooting 200+ kids in two days!) I do some work for a really fun company, Schoolhouse Candids (take a look at their work and request them at your school, AMAZING natural light school portraits like you have never seen) which I always really enjoy, the owner is fantastic and wonderful to do work for. This was my 3rd time working for them and it was a blast as usual, and we received some amazing new backdrops to use.
One of the lucky few (a limited quantity was available) who snagged one of my ScoopMama deals had their shoot in Grant Park in Atlanta a few weekends ago. It’s a really lovely park. How adorable are they? Love it!
I got to experience photographing a birthday party, I’ve been having more people request event photography from me lately but of course I had to pull the birthday girl outside to get some natural light candids!
I had the pleasure of shooting this adorable red cape for the cover of Petite Purls.
And about a month ago I had the joy of photographing an incredibly beautiful (inside and out) family celebrating their daughters Bat Mitzvah, an incredible two-day event which was wonderful to watch unfold.
Over the next months or so I’ll be focused on shooting for publication and will be very much heads down in setting up locations, finding wonderful props and accessories, and trying to beat the cold — aka getting all the shots I need before it’s freezing!!)
